The Voice Mate: An Aural Organizer that Really Works

By Chong, Curtis; Braille Monitor, Vol. 43, No. 2, pp. 173-176
Publication Date: February 2000

Article reviewing the Voice Mate, a voice output electronic organizer from the Parrot, S.A., designed for use by blind persons. The author examines each of the Voice Mate's five major utilities (talking phone book, voice note pad, appointment book, talking alarm clock, and talking calculator), as well as its documentation, with comparisons to its precessor product, the Parrot Plus. Areas for improvement are noted, but the author concludes that the Voice Mate is truly an aural organizer that a blind person can use, thanks to its compact design, long battery life, and diverse functionality.
