By Closing the Gap, Vol. 20, No. 2, pp. 8-9
Publication Date: June/July 2001

Article discussing the Tiger Advantage Tactile Graphics and Braille Embosser from ViewPlus Technologies, Inc., which provides people with visual impairments access to tactile media. The Tiger Advantage embosses graphic images and Braille at the same time by incorporating a Duxbury translator engine, and operates with most Widows applications. The Tiger Advantage comes with the ViewPlus Braille Translator for translation of text to Braille; the ViewPlus Braille Translator includes the DotsPlus symbol set to enhance the mathematics and scientific presentation of Braille symbols. DotsPlus Braille appears on the computer screen in standard text and numbers to facilitate use by sighted translators. The Tiger Advantage can be used to create standard text documents, tactile maps, diagrams, charts, and the periodic table, and will emboss on most standard computer paper or plastic media.
