Balance-Assessment Tool

By Physical Therapy Products: SOAP Notes,
Publication Date: February 2007

Article discusses the Metitur Good Balance System, which is a treatment and screening device for people with disabilities that affect balance. The system utilizes a triangular 32- by 32-inch digital force plate in order to measure the vertical forces yielded by the client’s feet. Wireless Bluetooth technology is used to eliminate the need for cables from the force plate to the computer. The Good Balance can be synchronized with other measurement systems such as electromyography or movement analysis via the system’s trigger functions. Exercise protocols can be designed to meet client’s individualized needs, and can be adapted to correspond with client progression.
