Patient-Handling System

By Rehab Management: Rehab Today,
Publication Date: July 2007

Article focuses on the Phil-e-Slide system, which consists of a versatile and simple device that encourages independence and mobility, while significantly reducing the risk of caregivers’ back injuries associated with client handling. The system’s components are made from low-friction material for easy client transfers in lying or sitting positions. The components can work together or separately in order to ensure client and caregiver safety. The Phil-e-Slide’s Flexi-Discs can be used for standing pivot transfers from bed to chair, seated pivot transfers, transfers on or off the side of a bed, and transfers in and out of a car or bathing seat. The transfer pads feature waterproof covers, and can be washed or wiped clean. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Phil-e-Slide, Incorporated (http://www.phil-e-slide-us.com/welcome.html) for further information.
