Article provides an update on the activities of the Human Engineering Research Laboratories (HERL). With help from the Paralyzed Veterans of America, HERL continues to provide leadership in wheelchair research and development. In addition to becoming part of the Engineering Research Center on Quality of Life Technology, HERL has also strengthened its efforts in a series of workshops regarding care for military personnel and veterans with disabilities, educational outreach, international work, and community activities.
