Article features companies that make ultralight wheelchairs and some of the models they manufacture. (1) Aero Innovative Research, Inc. (AIR), founded by two aircraft engineers with the mission of providing improved technology in the durable-medical-devices field, has developed the Flight Ultralight Wheelchair, featuring a frame designed with welding-free aerospace technology; (2) Better Made Wheelchairs LTD offers a custom wheelchair made of titanium, a material with twice the strength of aluminum; (3) Colours ‘N Motion, Inc. produces the Razorblade wheelchair, with custom-positioned seating, center-of-gravity adjustability, billet wheels, and bite-locking wheel hubs; (4) Eagle Sportschairs, LLC produces sports chairs for basketball, tennis, racing, and rugby football as well as the Eagle X-Change with features that support individuals who play multiple recreational sports; (5) magnesium chairs by Lasher Sport use titanium hardware, billet aluminum accessories, and Spinergy rear wheels as standard components; in addition, the company offers a line of racing handcycles complete with magnesium frame technology and a custom Spinergy wheel set; (6) Sunrise Medical manufactures brands including Quickie and Breezy, with the Quickie 2 being the leading folding wheelchair on the market; and (7) Top End specializes in customized racing chairs and handcycles as well as sport-specific chairs designed for basketball, quad rugby, and tennis.
