BeepEgg Cooks Along With Your Eggs, and Sings When They're Ready

By Coxworth, Ben; Gizmag,
Publication Date: April 6, 2010

Article features an automatic audible egg timer. The BeepEgg, which requires no time setting, is designed to be immersed along with the eggs to be boiled. The egg shaped timer beeps once when the water reaches boiling point, then plays the tune “Killing Me Softly” when the eggs are at the soft-boiled stage, followed by “I Wish I Were a Hen” for medium-boiled, and “O Fortuna” from Carl Orff’s cantata Carmina Burana when the eggs have reached the hard-boiled stage. The timer is turned off by immersing it in cold water.
