By PN: Paraplegia News, Vol. 64, No. 4, pp. 37-38
Publication Date: April 2010

Article features a wheelchair accessible motorcycle. The British Martin Conquest wheelchair accessible motorcycle, manufactured in the United States by Mobility Conquest, offers a 0 to 60 mile speed of 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 105 miles per hour. The heart of the vehicle is the front end and engine of a BMW R 1170 motorcycle. Drivers board the bike via a remote controlled raising and lowering ramp at the rear. The chassis provides stability by transforming the bike into a trike. The Conquest also features a thumb-controlled clutch, 6 forward gears, full reverse, and an electronic parking brake. Driver safety features include a wheelchair locking system with a push-button release and hydraulic front and rear racing disc brakes all operated from a single lever.
