iBGStar Glucometer for iPhone Now Available in U.S.

By Ostrovsky, Gene; Medgadget,
Publication Date: May 4, 2012

Article features iBGStar, a blood glucose meter that interfaces with the iPhone. The device displays glucose readings on the iPhone or iPod touch screen and saves them for long term analysis. It also works independently and provides readings on its own little display. While disconnected from the iPhone, the meter will save glucose levels measured locally until it is reconnected to the phone. The free iBGStar Diabetes Manager App has a range of features including visual statistics to help users record and track their readings, carbohydrate intake, and insulin doses; color coded scorecards showing individual monitoring results for blood glucose levels; and a share function, which allows specific data to be sent via e-mail to caregivers and healthcare providers.
