--- DISCONTINUED. RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Wandering patient alarm. Miniaturized transmitter worn by patient generates digital encoder address signal. Receiver monitors location of patient. Available in four packages. System I consist of a direction finding receiver and a patient locating device for each patient. Device can be worn on wrist, ankle, or belt. System II expands System I to include an alarm receiver mounted near restricted areas. Audible and visual alarm occur when patient enters controlled area. System III provides for all alarm receivers to be interfaced to a central control panel which displays active or inactive status of the alarm receivers. System IV includes an interactive online computer system. The computer logs all alarms and provides a visual identification of the alarm location on a building diagram displayed on the computer video monitor together with the Patient Locating Transmitter identification code.
