(Verified 08/2007) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- KeyStone KeyReader is a voice output screen reader program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision or learning disabilities. This program is a typing-only version of KeyStone ScreenSpeaker (see separate entry) and enables users to create documents without relying on the computer monitor. Users can hear their work being spoken back while the text is being typed. Any mistakes can be found and corrected using spelling and homophone checkers. Any amount of text can be read by character, word, line, sentence, paragraph, or as a complete document, either during the document's creation, or upon its completion, and under control of the mouse, numeric keypad, or cursor keys. The program announces the identity of icons, menu items, buttons, and dialog boxes, and provides audible and on-screen help. The computer-generated voice and the amount of information spoken can be customized at any time. Used with Microsoft Word, the program speaks each character, word, and/or sentence as soon as it is typed, announces when a spelling mistake or homophone is produced and speaks alternative spellings for the user's inspection. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 75 megahertz (MHz) Pentium processor (166 MHz recommended); minimum 32 megabytes (MB) random access memory (RAM) (64 MB recommended); Windows 98 (second edition)/ME/NT4/2000/XP operating system; 100 MB hard disk space; CD-ROM drive; 16-bit sound card; Microsoft Word 97 or later.
