(Verified 08/2012) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Handi-Cassette II, model 1-07085-00, is a four- track cassette player and recorder designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This compact unit will play and record two-track or four-track cassettes at either 1 7/8 inches per second (commercial tape speed) or 15/16 inches per second (Talking Book speed). Playback features include variable speed playback with digital pitch control to allow adjustment of the pitch when playback speed is increased or decreased. Playback is through a built-in mono speaker or stereo headphones (included). The unit has a built-in condenser microphone and a tone indexing button to record an audible tone signal for indexing material. Other features include a tape motion sensing window; buttons with tactile symbols for tape operation; and an audible low battery warning in record mode. The unit comes with a manual in print and on cassette, plus a print/braille quickstart instruction sheet. POWER: Uses the included alternating current (AC) converter (included), a rechargeable battery pack (included), or four double-A batteries (not included). OPTIONS: Carrying case (model 1-07084-00), replacement rechargeable battery pack, AC adapter / recharger, battery clip, and stereo headphones. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 4 3/8 x 2.25 x 6.75 inches. WEIGHT: 21 ounces. WARRANTY: One year limited warranty. A two-year extended warranty is available. The extended warranty covers the machine only, accessories or the rechargeable battery are not included.
