(Verified 03/2008) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- System picks up the sound from television speaker grill and transmits it to headset for sound amplification. Transmitter (measures 1 by 7.5 by 3 inches) plugs into wall outlet and receives the sound through microphone which is attached to speaker grill on television. Sound is transmitted to the receiver for distances up to 30 feet. The 3 ounce receiver has a volume control and on/off switch. Receiver is used with earphones or silhouette inductor (for more severe hearing losses). The silhouette is placed next to hearing aid which has telephone switch.
Notes: The receiver may be used with other infrared transmitters installed in public buildings.
