(Verified 05/2009) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Firex Hearing Impaired Alarm Kit, model 252, is a flashing light signal designed for use by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. This kit includes a relay module (model 501) that responds to a smoke alarm, a carbon monoxide alarm, or both (not included), a strobe light (model 240B), and a wiring instruction sheet. Up to five additional FireX model 240 or 240B strobes can be operated in addition to the strobe that comes with the kit.
Notes: Firex is a registered trademark. ** The manufacturer states that the strobe exceeds Underwriters' Laboratory (UL) standard 1971 "Signaling Devices for the Hearing Impaired" and ADA (American Disabilities Act) requirements. ** The manufacturer states this kit is designed for use in the United States and Canada.
