(Verified 6/2005) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Medical Words, models S-49A5F, S-49A3F, S-49I5F, and S-49I3F, is an independent living skills, reading, and vocabulary software program designed to familiarize people with cognitive disabilities with common medical words and phrases. The 90 terms included on the 9-disk set cover symptoms, ailments and illnesses, and hospital signs. The student matches the word with the appropriate graphic; the word is voiced by the computer as it is read. The program features both English and Spanish speech and includes 6 reproducible workbooks and an instructors manual with a blackline master of all screen graphics. The program is available on 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch disks. COMPATIBILITY: Versions are available for Apple II and IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Apple versions require 64 Kilobytes of memory and an Echo (see sparate entry) or Digispeech (see separate entry) speech synthesizer. IBM versions require 256 Kilobytes of memory and an IBM, Echo, or digispeech speech synthesizer. A color monitor is also required.
