--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 02/2012) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Phonics Tiles is a vocabulary tutorial program for use by children with cogntive or learning disabilities or low vision. It allows children to explore the relationship between combinations of letters and the sounds they make. Individual magnetic letter tiles arranged on the special mat produce letter sounds or names; up to five tiles can be lined up to build words. Phonics Tiles pronounces vowels, and blends appropriate vowel and consonant combinations, and recognizes and repeats more than 600 high- frequency words, including those most commonly taught in preschool, kingergarten and first grade.
