--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 08/2007) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Big-W is a screen magnification program designed to enlarge contents of the computer screen for individuals with low vision. It can be run from the Windows Program Manager to open up a magnifying window which automatically enlarges the area under the mouse cursor or text input caret. Magnification can be changed from 1.5X to 10X with a simple menu command. The program is designed to initially follow the mouse cursor until text is entered, after which it follows the input caret. The magnification window has an always-on-top attribute, and can be resized or repositioned with standard Window commands. The program comes on a floppy disk and is accompanied by a large print manual. OPTIONS: This program comes in two versions, Big-W Everywhere and Big-W Installed. Big-W Everywhere is a read-only file that can only be run when the disk is inserted into a computer's floppy drive. The read-only file cannot be infected with viruses, but settings cannot be saved. Big-W Installed has a file that installs on the computer hard drive. Preferred settings can be saved in this version. COMPATIBILITY: For IBM and IBM-compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 3.1/95/98/2000/NT/ME/XP.
