RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. -- The Liberty Standard Personal Emergency Response System is an emergency alert system with monitoring service designed for use by seniors or individuals with disabilities who are at risk for medical emergencies. The system includes a pendant transmitter that can be worn around the neck or on the wrist, and a table-top console that connects to a telephone line like an answering machine. When the user presses a button on the pendant or console, the console automatically sends an alarm to the company's Emergency Response Center. The Emergency Center staff will then attempt to reach the user by phone to assess his or her situation. If the user is unable to answer or if contact is not made, the Center will deploy assistance based on the user's preset instructions. The system includes a main console, power cord, waterproof pendant, and wrist strap. The system performs a weekly self-test to verify it is working correctly and that battery levels are good. POWER: Console uses household current or backup battery. The pendant uses a battery.
Notes: There is a fee of $23.00 a month for monitoring. Equipment is included, but must be returned when the service is cancelled. Equipment can be shipped for $10.00 or delivered, installed, and tested for $45.00. Delivery / installation is available in the local upstate New York area only, and may cost more in outlying areas.
