The D9-6 Handicap Access Sign is an access sign designed for use on highways and streets to identify locations accessible to individuals with disabilities. The sign is square and features the international access symbol. The sign is made from heavy-gauge aluminum alloy, with rounded corners and smoothed edges to prevent injury. Holes are punched in the sign for mounting and are located in the center of the sign at one inch increments from top to bottom to match standard sign posts. The sign has a reflective background visible for daytime or nighttime visibility from a wide range of angles. OPTIONS: Type III High Intensity reflective background; Type VIII Prismatic reflective background. DIMENSIONS (HxW): 24 x 24 or 30 x 30 inches. The sign is 0.08 inch thick; mounting holes are 5/16 inch wide. COLORS: White accessibility symbol on blue background.
Notes: The manufacturer states that the reflective background on this sign exceeds ASTM D4956 Type 1 standards for retro reflectivity which is visible in daytime or nighttime from a wide range of angles. ** The manufacturer states that this sign meets Federal Highway Administration guidelines for traffic control devices. D9-6 is the FHWA designation for General Service Signs - Handicapped.
