(Verified 11/2012) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The PaceSaver Scout RF and NP is a rigid heavy-duty powered wheelchair designed for use by large adults with lower extremity, mobility, or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury. FRAME (HxLxW): 40 to 42 x 39 or 42.25 x 25 inches. The turning radius is 21.5 inches (39-inch length) or 24.25 inches (42.25-inch length). The ground clearance is 3 inches. The Scout RF and NP include front anti-tippers, and it has a rigid suspension system. The seat frame is black and the base is available in ocean blue, candy apple red, or midnight black. CONTROLS: Integrated Shark 75-amp joystick controller; the controls are programmable on the Scout RF and non-programmable on the Scout NP. Controller joystick options and a 5-inch retractable controller mount are available. FWD: Front-wheel drive with two matched RPM high torque motors. SEAT (LxW): 18 x 18 inches. The back height is 20 inches. The floor-to-seat height adjusts from 21.5 to 23.5 inches; the seat-to-footplate height adjusts from 16 to 19 inches. Optional seats include a 50-degree reclining Admiral's Seat; rehab (cane) seat; and a 24-inch wide seat. Other seating options include an adjustable headrest; a 5-inch power seat lift; pediatric seating; and specialized seating components with the rehab (cane) seat. UPHOLSTERY: Black, gray, or crimson fabric or charcoal, gray, or tan upholstery is available. ARMRESTS: Detachable and flip-away padded armrests. BRAKES: Regenerative, dynamic and disc parking brakes are standard. CASTERS: 8-inch rear caster wheels with solid tires. Each caster rotates on an articulating arm. This chair is equipped with 5-inch front anti-tip wheels with solid tires. WHEELS: 14-inch middle drive wheels with pneumatic tires; flat- free tires are optional. FOOTRESTS: Front one-piece footplate. The footplate’s height from the floor is adjustable from 4.5 to 5.5 inches. Elevating legrests and swing-away detachable footrests are optional. OPTIONS: Amputee adapter; front bag; saddle bag; folding basket; cane holder; cup holder; and oxygen tank holder. POWER: Uses two Group 22 sealed batteries (not included). A carry-on charger is standard. SPEEDS: 5 miles per hour for a range of up to 25 miles per charge. Maximum incline on hard surfaces is 9 degrees; on rough and uneven surfaces is 5 degrees. CAPACITY: 300 pounds. WEIGHT: 127.5 pounds. WARRANTY: 3-year limited warranty on frame; 2-year limited warranty on electronics; 1-year limited warranty on motor and gearbox assemblies.
