YETTI FRAMEWORK

The Yetti Framework is a mono-ski for paraplegics, lower extremity amputees and other individuals that would like to sit-ski. All of the Yetti models (see separate entries) use K2 skis (when purchased as a package). The Yetti Framework is aerodynamically designed with a fiberglass/Kevlar seat and matching footplate that curls up slightly to protect the skier's feet. The mounting set-up has quick-disconnect "skewers" so that the ski can be mounted without using tools. The seat can be raised or lowered, and is also adjustable by sliding it forwards or backwards to lengthen or shorten the frame. The size of the seat is made to measure for any individual. This model has a small shock under the footplate to reduce "chatter" or vibration of the ski tip going downhill. The use of this shock is optional; advanced skiers may wish to disconnect it to provide more ski tip flexibility while maneuvering through moguls. SAFETY FEATURES: Three-point evacuation system, rubber stoppers on the seat and footplate to help grab the snow if the skier should go down, and double tubbed webbing and heavy duty pinch-type buckles on the straps. CHASSIS: 60/61 aluminum with baked paint finish. SEAT: The seat insert is a custom molded foam with vinyl cover. SKI LIFT LOADING: Self-loading; a loader handle, which fits onto the loading mechanism on the side of the ski below the foot plate, pulls back to lift the seat off the lower frame for loading, and locks to enable the skier to move forward or backward and still maintain the loading status. The handle is adjustable to give the skier a choice of where he/she wishes to start the pull and how high to raise the seat. The handle is stored in a special notch on the footplate.
