Expressive is a voice output direct selection and symbolic communicator program designed for use by individuals with communication cognitive, learning or speech disabilities, autism or low vision. This program enables an Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to function as an alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) system for people who cannot speak or have difficulty speaking. The program comes with 600 vocabulary pictures using Smarty Symbols. The user selects images he/she wants to communicate, and Expressive will speak the audio files associated with the selected images. Both male and female voices are available. Expressive allows the user to add images to the library and record audio to associate with those images,The program also allows the user to create folders, change background color of folders, arrange images, and hide, delete and add image buttons. Other features include a search button to find images quickly, optimized audio, landscape and portrait mode support, and support for re-arranging titles.
