Picture of SOUND CHOICE INFRARED AUDIO TRANSMITTER (MODEL SC-186K) The Sound Choice Infrared Audio Transmitter, model SC-186K, is a transmitter for an FM amplification system designed for use by individuals who are hard of hearing. This transmitter has a wide-area infrared LED (light emitting diode) emitter that covers approximately 1500 square feet. Transmission volume is adjusted by Automatic Gain Control, with with multiband internal audio equalization and Peak Limiter to prevent loud sounds from causing distortion. The transmitter also includes a built-in Crown PZM wide-area microphone, an external microphone/line input jack for transmission of other sound sources, and a line output jack for making transcription recordings. Its housing is a wood enclosure over an aluminum chassis. OPTIONS: Emitter Disk that transmits in a 360-degree pattern; remote mute switch for conversational privacy; microphone splitter/mixer for use with transcription recording systems. POWER: Uses alternating current (AC); wall block transformer included. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 1.75 x 5 x 6.5 inches. WEIGHT: 1.4 pounds. COLOR: Natural oak.
