Next Product »BookCrafter Accessible Book Publishing Suite is an optical character recognition device designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This device scans printed books and other documents and converts them to accessible digital books (aBooks) that are compatible with screen reader, voice output, and braille output programs (not included) and Digital Talking Book and DAISY formats. Existing PDF files and other file formats may also be converted into aBooks. Teachers' lesson plans and work sheets can be scanned and disseminated, as can scientific and mathematical books. Picture books may be converted and tags added. Converted books retain the complete image of the printed book for those who are not print disabled, including pictures, color, graphs, and reverse type. Navigation of an aBook is performed by mouse or keyboard. The included scanner scans both sides of the page at speeds up to several hundred per hour, and the system performs up to 12 software functions with the push of one button.
