Picture of SHOEBOX TASKS Shoebox Activities are a training system for sorting / matching / assembly designed to prepare children wit autism and mental retardation to learn basic vocational skills. Suitable for children functioning at the 12 to 22 month age level, the set includes 16 precision tasks intended for supervises use in home, clinic, or classroom settings. All 198 pieces are made of durable plastic or wood and have non-toxic, washable finishes. The set comprises all materials for the 16 tasks and instructions. Skills include a variety of simple put-in tasks, one-to-one correspondence, pull-apart and put-in tasks, stacking, and two-way object sort. Specific tasks include transferring blocks from Velcro to open container; transferring blocks from an open container to a lidded container; transferring separated chips to a lidded container; transferring separated clothespins to a lidded container; transferring separated pegs to a lidded container; clothespin pull-off and put-in; removing beads from pipe cleaners and placing into a box; transferring golf tees from a container to a box; transferring pegs from a container to film canisters; paired spool pull-apart put-in; paired locktagon pull-apart and put-in; clothespin/card pull-apart put-in; megablock stack; cup stack; bead stack; peg sort and stack by color; and a two-way object sort
