--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 12/2002) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Type-Talk is a typing instruction program designed for students with visual disabilities. The program includes 12 educational modules for familiarizing students with the standard QWERTY keyboard and special Apple II computer keys. Modules for all twelve levels of learning are arranged to build on increasing familiarity with the keyboard. The program provides 12 tutorials that cover the entire Apple keyboard. The program then provides letter and word drills to reinforce the tutorials. Letter Speak and Word Speak verbally repeat keystrokes and words entered at the keyboard. Pressing the Escape key will switch the keyboard out of "perform" and into "announce" mode, in which each key is identified. Pressing Escape again returns the user to the drill. The software includes a Text File program that allows teachers to create word lists for students to practice in Word Drill. The programs come on one disk. Lab disks for multi-computer environments are available for $10.00 following the initial purchase. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple IIe, Apple IIc and IIc Plus, or Apple IIGS computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 64K of RAM and an Echo speech synthesizer.
