--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 3/2006) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- OutSPOKEN is a voice output screen reader program designed for individuals who are blind or have low vision. The program provides voice output access to text-based Macintosh software, such as word processors, web browsers, e-mail programs, databases, installers, spreadsheets, and accounting packages. Commands are intuitive and can be entered using the numeric keypad or the keyboard. The talking interface announces virtually everything on the screen, including icons, ruler marks, and windows. The program is installed with a talking installer. A dictionary permits the user to modify the way specific words are pronounced. A manual is provided in print, on cassette, and on disk, and is available in Braille. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Mac OS 8 or 9; 48 megabytes (MB) installed random access memory (RAM) for USB-based Mac running OS 9 or newer; 32 MB RAM for all other Macs.
