(Verified 7/2005) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- EcoTrack Tiles are a detectable warning surface designed to improve traction and provide a rolling surface on wooden walkways, docks, access ramps, steps and pedestrian bridges for wheelchair users. Constructed to ensure user security and stability, the tiles feature an overlapping arc pattern designed to provide resistance to wheel slippage, and at the same time, allow an easy primary direction of travel. The curvature of the arcs is designed to help align the user's wheels for straight travel while not hindering any turning movement. The tiles are fabricated from high density, polyethylene recycled plastic forms that are non-toxic and recycleable. In addition, the tiles are also engineered to flush water and sand/grit through the gaps in the subsurfaces, allowing long term wear. These durable tiles can also help to refurbish worn and splintered wooden surfaces in addition to helping to smooth uneven heights on a pedestrian bridge; they also help to control the warping and twisting of wood. Designed for easy installation and low maintenance, these tiles can be cut, screwed and nailed with ordinary woodworking tools and fasteners--no toxic coatings or adhesives are needed.
