--- DISCONTINUED. RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Emergency alert system. Service provides 24 hour intercom between home and support center. User speaks to staff member by means of speakerphone at home. Within a minute, users record appears on computer screen at support center. Support center determines users needs, and stays in voice contact until assistance arrives. Help is automatically sent to home if user loses consciousness before voice contact is made. Home is assessed for safety and communications needs, and appropriate equipment installed. Service maintains user history and provides at least quarterly followup assessments. Speakerphone intercom has call button, or can be activated by remote switch.
