The Emergency Caller, model EC-1, is an emergency alert system designed for use by seniors or individuals with physical disabilities. This system includes a waterproof transmitter which can be worn around the neck or carried in a pocket and a base unit which dials up to four telephone, pager, or cell phone numbers when activated. If a busy signal is encountered, the system automatically skips to the next number and will continually try up to three calls per number until the call is answered. Upon answering, a pre-recorded help message is played. The unit then enables the called party to "listen in" to the caller and initiate two-way conversation. To prepare for operation, the unit is plugged into a standard phone jack, the telephone numbers are programmed, and voice message is recorded. POWER: Uses standard household power; the battery back-up keeps the unit fully operational without loss of memory for up to four hours.
