Picture of ASCENSION VIRTUOSO (MODELS 4860P AND 5460P) The Ascension Virtuoso are portable wheelchair lifts designed for use by individuals with spinal cord injury or lower extremity or mobility disabilities and others who use wheelchairs. These lifts do not have an access ramp so that a person can enter it directly from street level. The lifts consist of a drive system, passenger platform and doors or gates, all mounted on casters for portability. The casters lock, and the lift will not operate when they are not locked. The platform is enclosed on four sides by transparent thermoplastic panels with steel frames. There are doors on two opposing sides. Safety features of this system include constant pressure operating switches; an emergency stop button at the passenger control station; electro-mechanical interlock to prevent accidental opening of lower landing side platform gate; switch to prevent platform movement if either gate is open; a plastic safety skirt that extends as platform is raised to cover moving parts; hydraulic hand pump that can raise and lower the lift without power; and self-closing gates. There are full-length grab bars on each wall and slip-resistant surfaces on the platform floor and dock plate. POWER: The direct-acting hydraulic drive requires a standard 120-volt wall outlet. Control and operating circuits are serviced by a 12-volt direct current (VDC) power supply. OPTIONS: Stanchion package for lift recall at floor and stage level; lift cover; larger casters for uneven or rough surfaces; stage guard for stages between 38 and 60 inches in height; backup power supply; alarm for passenger assistance request; and stairbridge for access over stairs. DIMENSIONS (LxW): The passenger platform is 48 x 36 inches (model 4860P) and 54 x 36 inches (model 5460P). The walls and gates are 43 inches high on both models. The lifts require a minimum space 44 inches wide for operation, storage or transport. No part of the lifts stand over 44 inches high while the platform is on the ground. Both lift’s maximum lifting height is 60 inches. SPEEDS: The lift moves at a vertical speed of 7 feet per minute. CAPACITY: 750 pounds. WEIGHT: 975 pounds (model 4860P); 1025 pounds (model 5460P). COLOR: Black is standard; other colors are optional. WARRANTY: 10 years on the drive train; 3 years on all other components; 1 year on labor.
