(Verified 06/2006) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- I Can Speak for Windows is an augmentative communication program designed to convert any Windows compatible computer into a powerful and effective Augmentative Communications System for individuals with a speech disorder or a learning disability or a physical disability. It combines pictures, text, and sentences to help you communicate easily, accurately and effectively. The program is adaptable and easily modified to suit specific needs of individual users. It supports 16 main groups of augmentative communications - all user definable - which can have from 2, 4, 8, up to 32 items. Each item under a group can be assigned a picture and a label, or a complete sentence. There are over 2000 pictures installed and youcan import pictures from other libraries. The pictures can be accessed using a pointing device, mouse, track ball, keyboard, or single switch scanning. COMPATIBILTY: IBM PC. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: IBM PC running windows, 4 MB free disk space, external tect to speech synthesizer such as RealVoice or DecTalk (see separate etries). OPTIONS: Text to speech synthesis option is $100. Mayer Johnson PCS library, approximately 500 symbols, is $100. Single switch to parallel port cable (without a switch) is $75.
