Smart/Scan 8 Plus is a direct selection and scanning communicator designed for use by individuals with communication or speech disabilities. This portable device has a light-touch membrane panel with an 8-cell overlay grid. It can record and play back eight messages up to 10 seconds long on each of six levels, for a total of up to 48 independent messages. It can operate in linear or step mode, allowing single- or two- switch scanning with LED and auditory prompts. Scan speeds are slow at 4.5 seconds, medium at 2.25 seconds, or fast at 1.0 seconds. A beeping tone is available to augment visual cues. The device has an external earphone jack and recording light indicators. OPTIONS: Mounting plate and metal stand. POWER: Uses rechargeable battery (included). The unit is equipped with a low battery indicator light.
