Picture of PAPOOTOUCH The PapooTouch is a handheld direction selection and symbolic communicator designed for people with communication and speech disabilities. This communicator also functions as an MP3 and digital video player. The PapooTouch features a 4.3-inch touchscreen (480 x 272 pixels) with 16 million colors. It is usable with one or two hands. The user can use either the on-screen keyboard or symbol grids to form phrases and sentences that are spoken by the PapooTouch. Grids can include pictures provided by the user and Widgit symbols, and the user can create grids on a computer and upload them to the PapooTouch via a USB connection. The PapooTouch features two built-in speakers with high-quality vocal synthesis of male or female voices. It supports English, French, Spanish, German and Italian. A neck cord, USB cable and user manual are included. POWER: Uses a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that charges through the USB port. One charge supports up to 7 hours of speech time. COMPATIBILITY: IBM PC or similar or Apple Macintosh. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows, Macintosh or Linux operating system; USB 2.0 port. DIMENSIONS (HxWxD): 155 x 81.5 x 26.8 millimeters. WEIGHT: 140 grams.
