--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 11/2002) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- ViewPoint VGA is a hand held video magnifier designed for use by individuals with low vision. This flexible electronic magnifying system is available in three models: the Viewpoint VGA Mono 14, Viewpoint VGA Multi 14, and Viewpoint VGA Mono 19. All three models use a hand-held CCD camera, which fits comfortably in the hand and can be rolled over any printed or handwritten text to produce an enlarged image on the display screen. Both of the 14-inch models are computer (PC) compatible. MAGNIFICATION: From 8 to 32 times original size, selected electronically with the touch of a button. Focus is maintained at each magnification setting. CONTROLS: Variable contrast, up to 16 gray levels; positive or negative image polarity; automatic and manual threshold settings; and adjustable blinds to limit the number of text lines displayed. IMAGE CONTRAST: Can be set to a high level for best text visibility, or to a low level for reproduction of photographs. Also, the display can be chosen as positive (dark on light) or negative (light on dark). SCREEN TYPE: The Mono 14 model features a 14-inch diagonal, tilt/swivel, black and white screen. The Multi 14 is a 14-inch diagonal, tilt/swivel, color screen (eight colors). The Mono 19 uses a 19-inch diagonal NTSC-compatible color television screen (not compatible with computer displays). COMPATIBILITY: For use with any IBM or Macintosh compatible or other personal computer system having a VGA external monitor connection. This unit also works with VGA compatible screen magnification product (application software compatibility depends only on the capabilities of the magnification product used). DIMENSIONS: Camera is 6 x 1.6 x 1.8 inches. WEIGHT: Camera weighs 0.9 pounds. WARRANTY: 12 months from date of purchase on parts and service. Service agreements that extend the warranties on proprietary products are available at an additional cost.
