--- DISCONTINUED. RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Compudapter is an alternate computer keyboard that allows the user to select characters by scanning. The keyboard consists of a scanning array that stands upright attached to a horizontal panel that contains three switches: one for scanning horizontally, one for scanning vertically, and one for selecting a character once it has been reached. The scanning array is comprised of six rows: four containing standard keyboard characters, and the remaining two rows can be user programmed for options of commands for Applewriter, Appleworks, LOGO, or other Apple commands. Shift and control options are two key functions. The three switches are activated by skin contact (no pressure necessary). A five-position adjustment varies the response time of the switches. Switch activation is signalled by an adjustable tone and light signals on the panel. Compudapter functions exactly as a standard keyboard would, and does not interfere with such auxilliary devices as disc drives or the game input. Input jacks are provided so that other switches can be used in place of those that come with the Compudapter. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple II computers. DIMENSIONS: 14 x 13 x 12 inches. WEIGHT: 4.5 pounds.
