(Verified 08/04) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- LIAISON is a full function computer work station for users with high level spinal cord injuries. It transparently emulates both keyboard and mouse, using rapid direct selection which commonly yields letter by letter typing rates of 15 to 20 words per minute. Memory features further increase input speed. The user controls it via proportional infrared romote control from the DU-IT controlled power wheelchair and chin or tongue/lip controller, or via a desk-mounted proportional controller as a stand alone device. LIAISON controls IBM or Apple IIGS or MacIntosh, allows use of any software an ablebodied user would use, and provides for evnironmental control functions such as telephone, lights, page turner, etc. which may be used simultaneously with the computer. Adjustable performance parameters and design your own keyboard features make it especially useful for special needs, children, or for specific program applications. Mouse emulation give competitive performance even on demanding applications like CAD.
