--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 8/1999) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Idioms in America, ##7288, is a language tutorial program with 10 four-word idiom lessons. Each idiom and its meaning is defined and presented in a sentence. Students read the idiom in the sentence, read its definition, and then create original sentences using that idiom. The sentences can be printed out, or the computer can say the sentences if an Echo speech synthesizer is used. Comprehension can be checked with multiple choice quizzes that correspond to the lessons. The quiz questions present an idiom in a sentence and then give the student four possible meanings to choose from. Positive feedback is given for correct answers, corrective feedback for errors. The program is operated using keyboard input. The package includes one computer disk, a 26-page user's manual, and a vinyl storage folder. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple II computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 48 K, 5.25 inch disk drive.
