iWriteWords Lite is a math tutorial program and a writing skills training program designed for use by parents or teachers working with children with learning, upper extremity or fine motor disabilities or autism. This application (or app) allows a parent or teacher to use an Apple iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch to teach a child handwriting while playing a game. The child collects the numbers in sequence by dragging with his or her fingers and drawing the letter at the same time. A drawing featuring the child’s own handwriting appears on the screen when all the letters in the words are drawn properly and the child advances to the next level when he finishes sliding the letters into the rotating hole. iWriteWords Lite is limited to three words/levels of uppercase letters, three words/levels of lowercase letters, nine levels of numbers, three levels (A to C) of individual letter tracing for uppercase letters, and three levels (A to C) of individual letter tracing for lowercase letters. Other features include a new voiceover option for voice speaking United Kingdom-style English; an option for navigating the alphabet; an option for other handwriting styles; the ability to set levels of difficulty (easy, normal, and hard); option for turning off uppercase words; ability to turn off encouragement sound; and option to not save game progress.
