Playful Primer is a pre-reading tutorial program designed for use by children with cognitive or learning disabilities. This program offers a variety of engaging early learning activities to stimulate expressive language and cognitive development in young learners. It can be adjusted to suit each child’s individual learning style. Activities are designed so that children are entertained without being distracted and challenged without being frustrated. The program can be played in either English or Spanish. Voices are warm, clear and vary in tone. Activities are presented in eight object categories: letters, numbers, shapes, foods, clothes, household items, and play things. The program provides refocusing cues and fun motivational rewards. Supplemental materials such as worksheets and program tips are available online. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers running Windows. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 700 megaHertz (MHz) Pentium or faster processor, and Windows XP or later 256 megabytes (MB) RAM.
