Effective Use of Objects: A Process Centered Intervention, model 7-35500-00, is a problem solving program designed for use by parents and professionals teaching problem solving skills to children with cognitive or learning disabilities who are blind or have low vision. This program helps individuals develop task-oriented behavior that is self-regulating. It focuses on the kinds of problem solving skills that encourage the functional use of objects. The first section stresses task orientation and exploration of the physical properties of objects. Section two addresses skills related to using objects in work sequences at a more advanced level.
Notes: The manufacturer recommends this program for children at functional ages two through seven.
