RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Quiet Duck Learning Series is a package of reading and spelling tutorial programs specifically designed for students with learing disabilities. It provides a clear, uncluttered presentation and easy-to-use format appropriate for easily distracted individuals. The Series can be used as a diagnostic tool and for pre- and post-testing of specific lessons. Responses are scored and errors filed for teacher review and analysis of students' strengths and weaknesses. The teacher can choose to use pre-packaged word lists or can develop individualized lists to match the learning objectives of each student. A pace-setting option, allows information to be presented to each student at his or her appropriate pace. Quiet Duck promotes consistent left-to-right progression in reading. Characters appear on the screen in sequence and force the student's eyes to scan with proper directionality. Additionally, the student has an opportunity to practice keyboard operation while learning to read and spell. Quiet Duck consists of four programs, available for $37.95 each. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM PCs and compatibles, and the TRS-80 color computers.
