(Verified 08/04) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Chin Switch Controller, CHC-5, is a chin switch joystick designed with a four switch nonproportional joystick with a wire lever 5th selector switch for quadriplegics. It is mounted on a Kydex collar and is suitable for people who have reasonably good head and neck movement, but lack the fine precision needed for proportional control. When the joystick is pushed, a directional signal is activated. Further pressure against on the joystick offers an unyeilding movement. This helps prevent spasm problems associated with sudden jerking met with at the end of a switch's travel. The selector switch is operated with a shoulder shrug or tilt of the head. This switch is recommended for wheelchair control, environmental control units, toys or any multi-switch application where a chin controlled non-proportional joystick is indicated.
