Picture of READING TIME COMMUNICATOR (MODEL 1524) The Reading Time Communicator, model 1524, is an electronic storybook reader designed for use by children with communication or cognitive disabilities. Any size book is clipped to the communicator and each page of text is recorded using the six built-in mini-gumball switches. Next, a colored sticker is fixed to each book page to correspond to the colored switches. (When the book has more than six pages, the story is continued on the next level.) To hear the story, the child presses the switch that matches the sticker on the page. Removable stickers are included. The unit offers six messages on each of four levels for a total of 24 messages. Each message is 25 seconds for 600 seconds of total record time. Stories can be replaced and re-recorded as desired. Features include an extension flap for larger books, true voice recording quality, level changer, and volume control. POWER: Uses 4 double-A batteries. DIMENSIONS (LxWxH): 15 x 7 x 10.5 inches.
