Mind Express is a symbolic communicator program designed for use by speech therapists or teachers of children with communication or speech disabilities. This software enables the user to create customized communication boards, grids, games, or exercises using symbols, pictures, speech, music, and sounds. Bliss, PCS, Picto, Beta, Rebus, and Picture This symbols and icons can be supplemented with drawings, photos, or new symbols. The program is available with RealSpeak, which allows text to be read out in an audible natural voice, or DecTalk speech synthesizer. A built-in grammar checker module provides automatic conjugations of verbs. Symbols can be accessed via touch screen, mouse, track ball, joystick, or switches. Motivation can be aided by rewards such as sound clips, music, or videos that play when a symbol is selected. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 98 or higher operating system; Pentium 300 megahertz (MHz) or faster processor; 32-megabyte (MB) memory; sound card.
