Multi-Media Instructional Program is an academic tutorial program that combines all of the curriculum areas included in the GED test with instruction presented on a lower comprehension level. It was developed for students transitioning from school to employment and community living. It may be suitable for mainstreamed students and students with learning, speech/language, visual, hearing, or mild developmental disabilities, emotional disturbances, traumatic brain injury, or mild mental retardation. Areas covered in the program include: Self-Esteem, Reading, Mathematics, Critical Thinking Skills, Social Studies, Workplace Literacy, English Usage, Science, Communication Skills, and Composition Skills/Writing. Each program includes a testing section which can be used to chart each student's progress, and an individual management system. MATERIALS: A Correlation of Basic Literacy Objectives and Transition Objectives, more than 100 networkable computer programs, 6 live-action VHS videotapes, testing workbook with a set of test manuals, 23 audio cassettes, supplemental worktexts, duplicatable study sheets, a complete set of teacher's manuals, and a duplicatable pre-test. An optional management system is available that maintains personal data, charts pre- and post-test scores, and provides a prescription for remediation. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple II series, Apple ProDos, TRS-80 III/4 and MS-DOS based computer systems.
