Stickybear Math Splash is a math tutorial program designed for children from kindergarten through fifth grade who have cognitive or learning disabilities. This program introduces children to math skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The problems are divided into six external levels of difficulty covering over 60 different math skills and operations. Stickybear Math Splash features four different activities. Combining math skills exploration with comic relief, the pirate ship activity Overboard provides children with the challenge of solving math problems correctly while they earn chances to dunk the pirate bear sitting on the plank. In the Rapid Fire activity, users solve math facts and work with multiplication tables. Correct answers trigger water pistol sharks to the finish line in a race against the computer. In the Island Hopper activity, students first solve math problems, then navigate their boats through a series of multi-level mazes to pick up correct answers. Users gather energy by hitting the answers that float past the dazzling viewport view in the Submarine Shoot activity. The program can be customized with user selectable options including the starting level of difficulty and auto-advance mode. All of the operators can be toggled on or off to further refine the program for each child. Student report cards track individual progress by saving the number of problems attempted and solved correctly. The school versions and above also come with freely reproducible lesson plans and manipulative masters. COMPATIBILITY: Windows or Macintosh.
