(Verified 4/2006) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- This is a set of Hartley programs that have been developed for children who have learning problems. The programs use large easy-to-read letters, uncluttered screens, consistent entry procedures and carefully sequenced lessons. Most of the programs can be modified to allow the teacher to tailor content to individual differences. The Special Education (Elementary) Pak contains programs that have been used with children with mental ages of 3.5 to 8 years. These include Colors and Shapes, Pattern and Sequence, Letter Recognition, Little Riddles, Number Words Level 1, Size and Logic, Sense and Nonsense, Vowels, Word Families, Scuffy and Friends, and Vocabulary Dolch with CCD. The CCD (Cassette Control Device) allows the computer to activate a standard cassette tape recorder. Vocabulary words, directions, definitions, or any oral presentation can be recorded, and then will be synchronized directly with the presentation on the computer. Some of the programs from the Early Discoveries Series use only the Space Bar and Return keys to operate. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple II computers.
