--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 04/2008) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Renaissance Therapeutic Mattress Replacement System is an air flotation mattress designed for use with individuals with pressure sores, skin grafts, or burns. This mattress has a patented pre-stretched Dartex cover that prevents hammocking and ensures consistent delivery of Zero Pressure. The cover is breathable and impermeable to fluid. The three-cell, two-layer design provides optimum support for a wide weight range. The adjustment of mattress air cell pressure for the weight and position of the user is automatic. The patented vacuum accelerated air extraction quickly deflates air cells to lengthen the Zero Pressure phase of each cycle. Reactive hypermia response is enhanced due to the quick deflation of air cells which provides increased blood flow to the wound site. Every area of the user's body that is in contact with the mattress experiences complete pressure elimination for two minutes of every 7.5 minute cycle. A multi-purpose air hose connector provides for selection of one of three primary modes of operation: Alternating pressure mode, transport mode, or CPR mode. Alternating pressure mode provides for a therapeutic environment for enhanced wound healing. Transport mode ensures a fully inflated surface for transporting the user on a mattress or in case of a power outage. CPR mode deflation is vacuum accelerated and is accompanied by audible and visual alarms. In addition to the primary modes, the mattress features a static mode to provide temporary suspension of alternating pressure, and a fast inflation mode that allows for quick mattress inflation. The mattress includes a power unit for control of features. POWER: Uses standard electrical current. SIZES: Standard, extra long, and critical care. DIMENSIONS (LxWxD): The standard model is 75 x 34 x 8 inches. The extra long model is 87.5 x 34 x 8 inches. The critical care model is 75 x 32 x 8 inches. The power unit is 20 x 10 x 6 inches. CAPACITY: 60 to 600 pounds. WEIGHT: The standard mattress weighs 9 pounds. The power unit weighs 19 pounds.
