--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 02/2008) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The ERGOMAX 1500 is an adjustable office chair with computer arms, a patented continuous balanced motion (CBM) seat, and system of postural support designed to offer traditional, recline, front support, and stool postures. The computer armrests may be particularly suitable for computer operators to relieve stress and fatigue in the upper back, shoulders, arms, and carpal tunnel syndrome. The chair is fully adjustable to the user and to standard work stations. The CBM seat is designed to eliminate dangerous excessive lumbar bending while performing reclining, erect, and forward leaning tasks. The ERGOMAX line of office chairs (see also separate model entries) are prescribed for workers by doctors, physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists for back pain relief, rehabilitation, and prevention. A Triple Action Lever independently controls the chair height, torso support tilt, and the friction brake. TORSO SUPPORT CUSHION: This cushion is anatomically contoured to form the lumbar/thoracic "S" curve with wrap-around lumbar support. Incline range is 26 degrees. The dimensions (in inches) for this cushion are 17 (h) x 6 (w) at the top and 26 (w) at the bottom. The height of this lumbar cushion has a range of 4.5 inches, and is adjusted with a large pull-knob. The cushion can also be adjusted in both depth and force, providing 15 degrees of lumbar angle range, and 2.8 inches of depth range. CBM SEAT: The chair's seat is anatomically contoured to the buttocks and thighs with side bolsters and an inner pommel. The CBM seat is mounted on ABS plastic runners, and is self- tracking for spinal alignment from 12 degrees back to 14 degrees forward. Seat dimensions are 19 x 17 x 4 inches. Height range (from floor to top of seat) is 16 to 21 inches. The pneumatic lift includes swivel ball-bearings for 360 degree chair rotation. BASE: The chair has a 26-inch diameter, 5- star base with 2-inch hooded twin-wheel casters on each of the feet. STOCK UPHOLSTERY: Olefin base, wear and stain resistant fabric on 2 to 3.5-inch thick, high resilient polyurethane foam on ABS molded structure. MATERIALS: Stamped steel housing with 2 axles and 4 Delrin bearings; ABS casing. LEG REST: Contoured to the shins, this leg rest measures 22 x 8 x 2 inches. It is height adjustable from 16 to 18 inches, and will rotate 360 degrees. Self-adjusting with rubber mounts, the tilt range is 45 degrees. The leg rest extends with a telescoping arm and screw knob from 14 to 18 inches. COMPUTER ARMS: These arm rests are contoured cushions formed to the forearms. They glide with the hands from side to side, and adjust up and down as well as forward and back to accommodate various typing styles and keyboard heights. Dual pivot action provides the cushion with 360 degree rotation. Height adjustment range is 3 inches, and distance reach extension range is adjustable from 9 to 12 inches. The cushions measure 4 x 7 x 2 inches.

Notes: The ERGOMAX 1500 with computer arms is available without the leg rest ($1295), with surgical arms and leg rest (1500 S, $1345), or with surgical arms but without the leg rest ($1145). ** ERGOMAX is a registered trademark of the American Ergonomic Corporation. ** This company maintains a website at http://www.americanergonomics.com ** See also separate entries for other ERGOMAX entries.
